In the city of Kolkata (formerly Calcutta) in the capital of India's West Bengal, over 4.5 million of India's people live in fewer than 72 square miles, making it the third most populous metropolis in India. Hinduism is the major religion of the region, with close to 80% of the population following it, with almost about 18% of the rest being Muslim. The Christian population accounts for less than 1%.
This is why Pastor Paresh Haldar of Ordained Welfare Trust has such a great mission and calling from God. Founding Shalom Church in the heart of this area, where people often have never even heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and where money to fund a church or missionary project is difficult at best to come by, Pastor Paresh and his wife Arnika, rely on the faithful contributions of others who are able to stand with them in partnership and help in this ministry. If you feel that you are able to, please contact them at firstname.lastname@example.org.
